The Obispan brings powerful Old World varieties grown in the warmer regions of San Luis Obispo County to life. While the hot days in areas of San Luis Obispo County including Paso Robles allow Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Verdot to fully ripen, the ocean influence and higher elevations of the hillsides bring cool nighttime temperatures that maintain high acidity in the grapes.
The Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles in this blend comes from old vines which impart bold, powerful and opulent notes of black cherry, cassis and pepper associated with high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon. The Petit Verdot is bright, beautiful, and rich in color, tannins, structure and floral aromas. In addition, the especially warm climate allows these grapes to develop intriguing fruit, herbal and floral notes. The oak aging adds rich spices.
This beautiful Bordeaux style blend, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot, and 20% Malbec. Full bodied and well balanced with lively acidity. Ripe fruit notes combine with savory, herbacious notes and lead to a long, full finish.
